Shopper's [pounds sterling]50 fine is quashed.

THE supermarket which says "every little helps" has lived up to its slogan - after the intervention of the Free Press.

Last week we reported how shopper Jo Clarke had been given a [pounds sterling]50 ticket for parking slightly over the white lines at Tesco in Bridlington.

She was furious she was given the penalty while she was in the store shopping, but after our story the supermarket agreed to quash the fine.

Mrs Clarke said she had been stopped in the street by numerous people praising her for standing up for customers against a big company.

And she said because she had resolved the matter she would no longer be boycotting the store. …
